**Aid transport to Ukraine: A nighttime operation full of commitment and support**
On the night of January 19 to 20, 2024, an extraordinary operation took place that demonstrated the commitment and support of many people. In a very short time, an aid transport to Ukraine was organized and carried out, thanks to the help of Pawlo in Ukraine and generous donors in Germany.
**Quick preparation and readiness**
When the phone rang in the middle of the night with the message “We’ll be there in 30 minutes”, quick action was required. Without hesitation, preparations were made, coffee was brewed, and everything was prepared for the arrival. Within a very short time, three vehicles and three shadowy figures appeared to coordinate the aid transport.
**Commitment of drivers and supporters**
The drivers, who already came from the Kassel area, had received a small transporter for Caritas in Ukraine and an off-road vehicle for use in contested areas. After the cargo was loaded, they set off without a break. After a 28-hour drive, they arrived safely in Ukraine to deliver the medical, technical, and humanitarian goods to their destinations.
**Thanks and recognition to all involved**
Special thanks go to Andrey and his colleagues for their commitment, as well as to all donors and supporters who made this aid transport possible. The residents who endured the nighttime disturbance also deserve recognition for their understanding and solidarity. Such actions show how important cohesion and support are in difficult times.
**Next steps and planned aid actions**
Despite the successful aid transport, planning for the next mission is already underway. At the end of February, another aid transport is planned before a mission in Dacia/Stein takes place. These ongoing actions demonstrate the continuous commitment and support for people in need.
