**Elvira’s Moving Life Story: Overcoming Obstacles and Glimmers of Hope**

**Elvira’s Story: A Life Full of Challenges and Hope**

Elvira, known to many as the warm-hearted soul of the Education and Encounter Center, carries a moving life story within her. As a mother of six children, five of whom live with disabilities, she has already had to overcome numerous obstacles. After being pushed to the brink of homelessness as a single Roma woman, she found a new home in Dacia, Romania. However, she encountered prejudice and rejection there, as the village community turned against new Roma residents and particularly against a woman with disabled children. Nevertheless, Elvira has found a home in Dacia where she wants to spend the rest of her life.

**A Moving Life Story**

Elvira’s life journey was marked by tragic events, including the loss of a daughter due to poisoning she contracted at work. Despite the suffering she has experienced, Elvira remains a warm and caring woman who looks after guests and children alike. For 18 years, she has been living free of charge in a house in Dacia, which has so far been financed by the owner. However, due to his financial situation, he was no longer able to cover the rental costs. This confronted Elvira with the worry of losing her home.

To secure Elvira’s future, the Romanian partner association Copiii-Europei has offered to take over the house for the next 30 years. This is a great relief for Elvira, as she can continue to live in her familiar environment. It is to be hoped that Copiii-Europei can mobilize the necessary funds to secure a permanent home for Elvira.
