**Elvira: Strong Woman with a Moving Story – Support and Help Needed**

**Elvira – A strong woman with a moving story**

Elvira is known to many as the loving housekeeper in the education and meeting center, who prepares delicious meals for the children every day. But behind this facade is a remarkable woman with a moving story. As a mother of six children, five of whom have a disability, Elvira had to endure difficult times. In January 2006, she came to Dacia as an “emergency admission” because she was driven from her previous home as a single Roma woman and was on the verge of homelessness.

**A story of rejection and loss**

In her early years in Dacia, Elvira faced rejection as the villagers did not want any new Roma, especially not a woman with disabled children, in their midst. Unfortunately, in the orthodox tradition, a disability is often seen as a sign that the person affected is possessed by the devil. Elvira experienced a lot of suffering before she came to Dacia and had to deal with prejudice and discrimination.

**A new home and a heavy loss**

Despite all these challenges, Elvira finally found a home in Dacia where she wanted to stay. The loss of one of her daughters due to poisoning she contracted while working for a shoe manufacturer left deep marks in Elvira’s life. Yet, the guests and children know her as a constantly smiling, loving woman who takes care of them with great care.

**An uncertain future and a solution**

For 18 years, Elvira has been living free of charge in a house in Dacia, which was financed by the owner until the end of February. However, he is no longer able to do so. One option was to sell the house, but it was important to him to continue to provide Elvira with a home. Fortunately, a solution has now been found that secures Elvira’s future.

**A helping hand for Elvira**

Our Romanian partner association Copiii-Europei has agreed to take over the house where Elvira lives for 30 years. It is to be hoped that they will succeed in raising the necessary funds to continue to enable Elvira to live in her familiar environment. If you want to help or have ideas on how to support Elvira, please contact Copiii-Europei.

**How you can help**

There are various ways to support Elvira. You can share the post, express your opinion in the comments, or even start a birthday or Christmas donation campaign. Any form of support is welcome and helps Elvira to continue to stay in her home.

**Closing words**

Elvira is a strong woman who, despite many setbacks and losses, is still there for others with a smile on her face. Her story reminds us of how important it is to stand up for each other and support each other. Let’s work together to ensure that Elvira continues to have a home where she can feel safe and secure in the future.
