On September 12, the first charity run of the 8th primary school in Dresden took place under the motto “We run to Einsiedel” and Jonathan e.V. was there.
The parents’ council had organized the event, which was supported by the school and the after-school care center. The background was the students’ goal to make an active contribution to the financing of the trip to Einsiedel in the summer of 2026. In addition, the children wish for a so-called “friends bench” on the school grounds. The drawing for the bench already exists, and it will soon be made by a local carpenter.
In addition to further small purchases, the children wanted to involve Jonathan e.V. in the proceeds. A full 15% of the total amount will be donated to our association and can be used for aid projects.
We spontaneously decided to support the event with a booth. An outdoor game (Cornwhole) was organized at short notice, which was gladly accepted before and after the runs. The children faced the competition in small or larger groups. In the meantime, there was chit-chat and romping with our furry friend Bodo.
The event was a great success. The pride and joy about the success was noticeably large. We are already looking forward to next year and wish the children a great trip to Einsiedel.
