Dear supporters of our work in Romania,
here is just the second part of the review of the Easter holiday week. The group from Ghita handed over the baton to the children’s group of the fourth grade of the Protestant primary school from Radebeul, led by Dorothea Georgi.
The very first day after a long journey of about 1500 km was used to make initial contacts in the village and with the children of the school project. The Romanian and German children helped to bring some of the freshly sawn wood under the terrace to dry and had visible fun doing so.
The days flew by. Together, two large banners were painted in the rooms of the school project, which found their new place in the center of the village on the last day. Two days were firmly planned with a visit to Viscri, one of the neighboring villages, and Bran as well as Brasov. A very special visit was made by the group to the residents of the Protestant nursing home in Fiser on Sunday, delighting the residents with a cultural program.
For the older and somewhat younger guests from Germany, the hike together with the children from Dacia and the campfire, which was exceptionally permitted by the forester at the edge of the forest on a meadow, was a truly unique adventure.
At this point, we would like to sincerely thank everyone involved who made this trip possible again this year, especially Dorothea Georgi, without whose commitment these wonderful trips would not exist, the Protestant primary school, the parents and sponsors, the city of Radebeul, and Caritas in Dresden, and many more.
We hope and wish very much that there can be another great encounter between the children from Radebeul and Dacia in 2024.
Best regards, Frank
