**The Steiner Parsonage in Transylvania – A Place of Encounter and Renewal**
The Steiner parsonage in Transylvania, Romania, has been uninhabited since the 90s. With only 4 remaining parish members from Stein, the decay of the fortified church and the parsonage was halted. The goal was to revive the place and make it a center of encounter. Renovation work began as early as 2004 to restore the parsonage and renew two rooms as well as the exterior facade. This hopeful beginning led to the creation of the education and encounter center.
**Renovation and Revival of the Parsonage**
Through collaboration with various helpers and organizers, a part of the church wall has already been rebuilt. In addition, two rooms of the parsonage were renovated to make them usable for the community. The exterior facade also received a refresh. These measures helped transform the parsonage into a place of encounter and exchange.
**A Place for Education and Encounter**
The project of the education and encounter center offers the community the opportunity to meet, exchange ideas and learn from each other. Through events, courses, and workshops, the parsonage becomes a place where knowledge is shared and relationships are strengthened. The renovation of the building contributes to the community members having a place where they can feel welcome and at home.
**A New Home for the School Project**
Since last year, the school project has also found its place in the former parsonage. The rooms provide students and teachers with an inspiring environment where they can develop and learn. The project will be presented in detail in the next post to provide insight into the educational work and the significance of the parsonage as an educational institution.
**Community Engagement for Renewal**
The renovation and revival of the Steiner parsonage was only possible through the community engagement of many helpers and organizers. Their support helped halt the decay and breathe new life into the building. The community benefits from this commitment and now has a place that promotes community and education.
**A Place of Hope and Inspiration**
The Steiner parsonage in Transylvania is not just a building, but a place of hope and inspiration. Through the renovation work and the creation of the education and encounter center, a place was created where the community can come together, learn, and grow. The story of the parsonage reflects the desire to preserve the past while looking to the future.
**Future Projects and Developments**
Further projects and developments are planned for the future to further strengthen the Steiner parsonage as a community center. Through the continuous support and commitment of many people, the parsonage becomes a place that connects generations and provides space for encounters. The history and significance of the parsonage will thus be kept alive in the coming years.
**A Place of Encounter and Togetherness**
The Steiner parsonage in Transylvania is more than just a building – it is a place of encounter and togetherness. Through the renovation and revival of the parsonage, a platform was created where the community can come together and grow together.
