On September 12th, the first charity run of the 8th Elementary School in Dresden took place under the motto “We are running to Einsiedel.” Jonathan e.V. had the opportunity to participate in this special event. The parents’ council organized everything, and the school and after-school care were ready to support it. The students aimed to contribute to the financing of their planned trip to Einsiedel in the summer of 2026. Additionally, they dreamed of a “Friend Bench” on the school grounds, the design of which already exists and will soon be implemented by a local carpenter.
The children also expressed the desire to involve Jonathan e.V. in the proceeds. A generous 15% of the total amount will be donated to the association to support aid projects. Without hesitation, we decided to support the event with our own stand. A spontaneously organized outdoor game called Cornhole was well received by participants before and after the runs. The children competed in small and larger groups while engaging in lively conversations and playing with our mascot Bodo.
It was a day full of enthusiasm and commitment. The joy and pride over the successful event were palpable among all participants. We are already looking forward to next year and wish the children an unforgettable trip to Einsiedel.
